Davert's white basmati rice has a slightly earthy flavor with nutty notes, making basmati rice a favorite variety not only in Asia but also in Europe. At the end of cooking, the grains are firm and do not stick together, making it ideal for stir-frying or as an accompaniment to curries and dhal. This rice is very versatile and can be paired with virtually any type of vegetable, meat, or fish. Curiosities: This product is part of the "Khaddar" Fair Trade project. Basmati rice is grown biodynamically in the foothills of the Himalayas, and thanks to minimum contract prices, small Indian farmers receive better and fairer conditions. Davert has been in contact with this Fair Trade-certified rice cooperative since 2001. Preparation for two people: Boil about 125g of basmati rice in about 250ml of (lightly salted) water and simmer for 10-15 minutes. May contain traces of edible nuts and sesame.
