Open the cover of the disc and check if there is any dirt on the bald head. Wipe the bald head with a cotton swab and soapy water, then rinse it with clean water. If the cleaning way still does not work and the bald head is aging (I mean not reading when it should read), you can disassemble the machine and find a small knob on the side of the bald head.
