Cornus Aurea. Golden Dogwood.
CORNUS Aurea
\nCommonly known as Golden Dogwood and sometimes called Tartarean Dogwood.
\nA medium-sized, deciduous shrub Cornus Aurea has soft yellow ovate leaves in spring and summer.
\nClusters of insignificant creamy/white flowers are borne in early summer followed by white berries in early autumn.
\nUnlike many yellow or golden leafed shrubs the foliage of this Dogwood does not burn or scorch in the summer sun.
\nThe bark on the plants new growth turns crimson in autumn and remains like this right through to spring.
\nWith its red stems glistening in the winter sunshine Cornus Aurea helps to brighten up the garden during the dark winter months.
\nGreat wildlife plant, butterflies and bees love the nectar rich flowers and birds feast on the berries.
\nNot fussy, Dogwood will grow almost anywhere, sunlight or partial shade, even in wet and poor soils where other plants would perish.
\nFor best stem colour cut the plants back hard in March and grow in full sun.
\nFully hardy, Cornus Aurea makes a very attractive all year-round shrub.
\nRoyal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

\nPlease remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth.
\nWe ask all our buyers to remember Cornus plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Cornus are checked and inspected visually before packing. . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Cornus Aurea . . Buyer in error.
