Black Freestanding Ladle, Tate Otama. Pronounced 'tat te o ta ma', meaning standing ladle, this funky kitchen utensil is designed and made in Japan by Mikiya Kobayashi. The black Tate Otama is a ladle that can stand by itself. No more need for a spoon rest, this ladle can stand alone with just gravity to support it thanks to the design and balance of its materials. Ideal for making effective use of the limited space available in our kitchens. The designer comments - Cooking space can be limited when living a cramped city life. In order to take advantage of what little space is available and make cooking more enjoyable, I wanted to design a ladle that you can stand up instead of placing on its side. The bottom part of the ladle is flat, but food can still be scooped easily with the curved inside of this new-style ladle. Each freestanding ladle is available in three different colours, this being Black, and is supplied in a presentation box, making ideal for giving as a gift. Approx measurements w72? d82 ? h298mm (max sizes).
