Description

They are very rich and complete foods that often replace meat or milk in isolated rural Peru. They also have a large amount of vitamins and minerals: iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, B1, niacin. Cañihua is from the same family as quinoa, but its seeds are much smaller and brown in color, its flavor is slightly chocolate. Amaranth, a cousin of quinoa, has a very fine and aromatic flavor, its seeds are also very small. It is recommended to make all kinds of cakes, bread or pancakes (50% flakes with other flours of your choice). To prepare sweet or salty salads, very good to thicken a soup, put 2 to 3 tablespoons per person, 5 minutes before the end of cooking. FR-BIO-01
